MgO Doped Lithium Niobate

Congruent PPLN does not perform well for interactions involving green or blue light. However, it has been demonstrated that PPLN produced from MgO:LN or from stoichiometric MgO:SLN has improved resistance to the photorefractive effect. Another advantage of these materials is the lower coercive voltage, allowing larger aperture devices. Crystal Technology is currently developing the technique to pole this material at short periods, and products are expected to be released shortly.
